The Camp room
Camp at Beacon Prep is for children in grades K through 5. Days move between indoors and outdoors, with soccer, chess, cooking, a circus workshop, games, and trips beyond the building. A strong academic component runs alongside the fun, so skills stay sharp over the summer.
Small classes let teachers give each child individual attention. A camper might work through a chess problem in the morning, measure ingredients for a cooking project before lunch, then head outside for soccer in the afternoon.
Families join in too, with a family BBQ and movie night under the stars. Children gain new skills, time with friends, and something to look forward to each morning.
What this looks like in practice
In a typical camp day, children rotate through activities in small groups. They might play soccer outside, then settle in for chess or a cooking project. Field trips break up the week with something new to see and talk about. Camp staff plan the flow so children know what comes next and have time to eat, rest, and play.
Camp gives children a stretch of time away from the school-year routine. They practice making choices, meeting new people, and handling a full day of activity. Parents often notice their child is more independent and more willing to try things. That grows from doing, not from being told.
